NICOLAS WITTNER
MUSICAL DIRECTOR OF THE CHAIRWORK
Born in 1980, he joined the Colmar Boys' Choir School at the age of eight and took piano lessons. He then studied musicology at the Marc Bloch University in Strasbourg. Enrolled at the Strasbourg Regional National Conservatory, he continued his studies in piano, composition, and choir conducting. In 2004, he won the National Regional Conservatory Prize.
Until 2005, he taught piano at the Colmar Choir School and was assistant choirmaster of the Strasbourg Little Singers. Since September 2007, he has taught music education at the Sainte Philomène Institution in Haguenau and founded the Sainte Philomène Choir of Haguenau, which he directs with great passion. He has developed a pedagogy specific to the children's voice, placing each chorister in a specific learning dynamic. His musical ease and his relationship with the choir allow him to tackle varied and original repertoires in partnership with prestigious ensembles.
